Just an FYI when deciding to make a contribution: The new law includes an “above-the-line” charitable deduction enabling taxpayers who are making charitable contributions to claim up to $300 for cash contributions. This reduces the taxpayer’s gross or taxable income on their 2020 standard deduction tax return.
