Want another easy way to support the Michigan Philharmonic?
Use your IRA to make a donation to the Michigan Philharmonic
A Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) allows individuals over the age of 70½ to make a donation to a qualified charity directly from their IRA. Besides the obvious benefit of donating to the Michigan Philharmonic, the donation may count towards your annual required minimum distribution (RMD) without including the withdrawal in your taxable income. This allows those who take an RMD and use the standard deduction to possibly receive a tax benefit for their charitable donation. There are limitations and specific requirements that must be met, so please speak to your financial advisor to determine if a QCD is right for you.
